FAQ Tuition Fees

Bachelor-after-bachelor programmes

Academic Year 2026-2027

These rates apply to EEA students.

For a BaNaBa programme (Bachelor after bachelor) you always pay a fixed and a variable amount.

  • Fixed amount: €610.90
  • Variable amount: €29.20 per enrolled ECTS credit

Students who combine a BaNaBa with a regular programme (associate degree or bachelor) pay the fixed amount only once.

Determining which fixed amount applies:

  • If the student enrolls in more ECTS credits in the BaNaBa, the BaNaBa fixed amount applies.
  • If the student enrolls in more ECTS credits in the regular programme, the regular fixed amount applies.
  • If the student enrolls in an equal number of ECTS credits in both programmes, the BaNaBa fixed amount applies.

Students enrolled in the preparatory trajectory for BaNaBa Creative Therapy pay the regular tuition fee of a basic programme, because their curriculum consists of bachelor-level course units.

Low-income students enrolled in a BaNaBa programme can obtain a reduction of the variable amount, paying €14.60 per ECTS credit instead of €29.20.

This reduction is granted based on a calculation performed by the social service, using the tax assessment notice of the financially responsible person (income 2024 – assessment year 2025).

Yes, you can split the tuition fee into instalments.

Contact the financial department via betalingen@pxl.be with your name, student number and invoice number.

Request this as early as possible and certainly before the invoice deadline.

Check whether you qualify for a reduction before requesting an instalment plan.

Please note: withdrawal must always take place according to the prescribed procedure. The official withdrawal date is used as the reference date for recalculating the tuition fee. See PXL.be/OER (Article 40).

OPTION 1: Withdrawal before 28 September 2026

If you officially withdraw within 7 calendar days from the start of the academic year, no later than Sunday 27 September 2026, you only pay an administrative fee of €75.

If you enrolled after the start of the academic year, the 7 calendar days are counted from the date of your enrolment.

OPTION 2: Withdrawal within one month of your enrolment date

If you officially withdraw within 31 calendar days from the date of your enrolment, you must pay the fixed part of the tuition fee (€610.90).

If you enrolled before the start of the academic year, the 31 calendar days are counted from the start of the academic year (from 21 September 2026).

OPTION 3: Withdrawal after one month from the enrolment date

If you withdraw after the 31st calendar day from the date of your enrolment, you always pay:

  • the fixed part of the tuition fee (€610.90) +
  • the variable part of the tuition fee for all course units whose teaching period has already started at the time of withdrawal (€29.20 per credit)*

The variable tuition fee for course units whose teaching period has not yet started at the time of withdrawal will be deducted from the tuition fee previously charged.

If you enrolled before the start of the academic year, the 31 calendar days are counted from the start of the academic year (from 21 September 2026).

*Exception: you do not have to pay the variable tuition fee for second-semester course units if you withdraw on or before Sunday 21 February 2027.

Please note: reorientation must always take place according to the prescribed procedure. See PXL.be/OER (Article 37).

When reorienting, you must pay tuition fees for both your old and your new program.

The following rules apply:

  1. Fixed part: You only have to pay the fixed part once when both your old and your new program are at PXL University College. The fixed part charged for your old program will be deducted and charged again for your newly enrolled program.

  2. Variable part
  • New programme: you pay the variable part of the tuition fee based on your newly selected study programme.
  • Withdrawn programme:
    • If you reorient within 31 calendar days from the date of your enrolment, you no longer have to pay the variable part of the tuition fee for the programme you withdrew from.
    • If you reorient after the first month from the date of your enrolment, the following rules apply:
      • Has the teaching period for a course unit in your withdrawn programme already started? Then you must pay the variable part of the tuition fee for that course unit.*
      • Has the teaching period not yet started? Then you do not have to pay the variable part of the tuition fee for that course unit.

*You do not have to pay the variable tuition fee for second-semester course units if you withdraw from these course units on or before Sunday 21 February 2027.

Did you enrol before the start of the academic year (21 September 2026)? Then the one-month period only starts from 21 September 2026.

If you only enrolled for second-semester course units, the 31-calendar-day period only starts from the beginning of semester 2 (8 February 2027).

Please note: changes must always take place according to the prescribed procedure. See PXL.be/OER (Article 36).

If you additionally enrol for course units, you will indeed have to pay extra for the newly enrolled credits. The tuition fee will be recalculated based on your new total number of credits. You will receive an additional invoice for this (€29.20 per credit).

Please note: changes must always take place according to the prescribed procedure. See PXL.be/OER (Article 36).

A refund of tuition fees when withdrawing from course units depends on whether the teaching period (i.e. educational activities) for that course unit has already started.

If the teaching period has already started at the time of withdrawal, you are not entitled to a refund of the tuition fee for the credits from which you withdraw.

*You do not have to pay the variable tuition fee for second-semester course units if you withdraw from these course units on or before Sunday 21 February 2027.

Please note: the start date of the teaching period is not the same as the cut-off date.

The tuition fee is calculated solely based on the number of enrolled credits. This refers to the number of credits for which you attend classes. Credits for course units for which you receive an exemption are therefore not included in the calculation of the tuition fee.
