Academic year 2026-2027

Tuition fees for bachelor, associate degree, and master programmes

Diploma contract – Credit contract*

* These rates apply to EEA students. Different rates apply for non-EEA students. See FAQ 3.

Student type

Fixed amount

Variable amount per ECTS credit Example 60 ECTS credits
Non-scholarship student €305.40 €14.60 €1181.40
Partial scholarship student €305.40 €5.30 €623.40
Scholarship student €139.40 / €139.40

The fixed amount is charged only once per academic year, regardless of the number of registrations under a diploma or credit contract.

Attention! Tuition fees are always invoiced at the non-scholarship rate. If you think you qualify for the scholarship or almost-scholarship rate, see FAQ 2.

Examination contract

No distinction is made between scholarship and non-scholarship students.

Fixed amount: €305.40
Variable amount: €5.30 per enrolled ECTS credit

How will I receive my invoice?

You will receive your tuition fee invoice via email in your PXL mailbox (and the financial follow-up email address) within two weeks after finalizing your study programme.

The invoice consists of two parts:

  • Invoice 1: the deposit – €139.40 – payable within 7 calendar days
  • Invoice 2: final invoice (remaining balance) – payable before 30/11/2026

Students wishing to pay the (almost) scholarship rate must be able to prove their eligibility before the due date of the final invoice.

This can be done in one of the following ways:

Option A. Request a calculation from the social service, based on the tax assessment notice of the person who is financially responsible for the student (income 2024 – assessment year 2025). Calculations are done by the social service. Email: socialedienst@pxl.be or phone 011/77 58 40.

Option B. Submit the proof of study grant approval from the Flemish government for academic year 2026–2027 to the tuition fee service: studiegelden@pxl.be.

No approval before the deadline?
Follow option A or pay your full invoice and submit your grant approval afterwards so that any overpaid tuition fee can be refunded (after deducting any outstanding invoices).

Important!

Tuition fees for non-EEA students 2026-2027

For students with only a non-EEA nationality at the time of (annual) enrollment (i.e., no nationality from an EEA member state), higher tuition rates apply.

This applies to all students whose nationality is not part of the EEA countries – see the official list at Europese Economische Ruimte (EER) | Vlaanderen.be)

These rates are valid for the academic year 2026–2027 and are subject to annual indexation.

Students from the United Kingdom → NON-EEA

These increased tuition fees do not apply to:

  • Non-EEA students who were already enrolled in the 2025–2026 academic year and are completing the program they started
  • Students with dual nationality, one of which is EEA
  • The existing exception categories for non-EEA students*

*Certain non-EEA students fall under the regular tuition fee regulations due to their residence status (Art. II.215). This concerns non-EEA students who have permanent residence status in Belgium, those benefiting from temporary protection, those who hold refugee status or candidate refugee status, as defined in Article II.217, 7° of the Higher Education Codex, and those who, by 31 December of the academic year, have held a residence permit for at least one year, provided that this residence permit was not issued for study purposes.

The situation at the time of (re-)enrolment is decisive and must remain valid at least until 31 December of the relevant academic year.

IMPORTANT:
Non-EEA students can only enroll after approval from the study progress office.
For more information regarding conditions and the procedure, contact Studievoortgang@PXL.be.

It is possible to split the tuition fee into instalments.

Contact the financial department via betalingen@pxl.be with your name, student number and invoice number. Request this as soon as possible, and certainly before the invoice deadline.

Please note: withdrawal must always be completed according to the official procedure. A phone call, email, or conversation stating that you are stopping is NOT sufficient. Not attending classes is also not considered an official withdrawal.

Very important: only withdrawals completed through the official procedure will be processed.
The official withdrawal date is used to recalculate the tuition fee. See PXL.be/OER (Article 40).

OPTION 1: Withdrawal before 28 September 2026

If you officially withdraw within 7 calendar days from the start of the academic year, so no later than Sunday, 27 September 2026, you only pay an administrative fee of €75.

If you enrolled after the start of the academic year, the 7 calendar days are counted as from the date of your enrolment.

OPTION 2: Withdrawal within one month of your enrolment date

If you officially withdraw within 31 calendar days from the date of your enrolment, you must pay the fixed part of the tuition fee.
(€305.40 for non-grant and near-grant students / €139.40 for grant students)

If you enrolled before the start of the academic year, the 31 calendar days are counted from the start of the academic year (from 21 September 2026).

For non-EEA students, the above rules apply based on the rates mentioned in FAQ 3.

OPTION 3: Withdrawal after one month from the enrolment date

If you withdraw after the 31st calendar day from the date of your enrolment, you must always pay:

  • the fixed part of the tuition fee (€305.40)
  • the variable part of the tuition fee for all course units whose teaching period has already started at the time of withdrawal (€14.60 per credit)*

For non-EEA students, the above rules apply based on the rates mentioned in FAQ 3.

The variable tuition fee for course units whose teaching period has not yet started at the time of withdrawal will be deducted from the tuition fee that was previously charged.

Grant-rate students only pay the fixed part at the grant rate (€139.40).

If you enrolled before the start of the academic year, the 31 calendar days are counted from the start of the academic year (from 21 September 2026).

*Exception: you do not have to pay the variable tuition fee for second-semester course units if you withdraw on or before Sunday, 21 February 2027.

Please note: reorientation must always take place according to the official procedure. See PXL.be/OER (Article 37).

When reorienting, you must pay tuition fees for both your old and your new program.

The following rules apply:

  1. Fixed part: You only have to pay the fixed part once when both your old and your new program are at PXL University College. The fixed part charged for your old program will be deducted and charged again for your newly enrolled program.
  2. Variable part
  • New program: You pay the variable part of the tuition fee based on your new study program.
  • Withdrawn program
    • If you reorient within 31 calendar days from the date of your enrolment, you do not have to pay the variable part of the tuition fee for the program you withdrew from.
    • If you reorient after the first month from the date of enrolment, the following rules apply:
      • Has the teaching period for a course unit in your withdrawn program already started? Then you must pay the variable part of the tuition fee for that course unit.*
      • Has the teaching period not yet started? Then you do not have to pay the variable part of the tuition fee for that course unit.

*Exception: you do not have to pay the variable tuition fee for second-semester course units if you withdraw from these course units on or before Sunday, 21 February 2027.

If you enrolled before the start of the academic year (21 September 2026), the one-month period only starts running from 21 September 2026.

If you only enrolled for second-semester course units, the 31-calendar-day period only starts from the beginning of semester 2 (8 February 2027).

If you are a grant-rate student, you only pay the fixed part of the tuition fee once.

For non-EEA students, the above rules apply based on the rates mentioned in FAQ 3.

Please note: changes must always be made according to the prescribed procedure. See PXL.be/OER (Article 36).

If you additionally enroll, you will indeed have to pay extra for the newly enrolled credits.

The tuition fee will be recalculated based on your new total number of credits. You will receive an additional invoice for this.

Grant students who have already received approval for their study grant from the Flemish governemnt or a positive calculation from the social services department only pay the fixed amount of €139.40 (= grant rate) for the entire program, even if they additionally enroll for extra course units. Therefore, they do not pay any additional tuition fees when taking extra course units.

For non-EEA students, the above rules apply based on the rates mentioned in FAQ 3.

Please note: changes must always be made according to the prescribed procedure. See PXL.be/OER (Article 36).

A refund of tuition fees when withdrawing from course units depends on whether the teaching period (i.e. the educational activities) for that course unit has already started. If the teaching period has already started at the time of withdrawal, you are not entitled to a refund of the tuition fee for the credits from which you withdraw.

Exception: you do not have to pay the variable tuition fee for second-semester course units if you withdraw from these course units on or before Sunday, 21 February 2027.

Please note: the start date of the teaching period is not the same as the cut-off date.(“grensdatum”).

Grant students who have already received approval from the Flemish government for their study grant or a positive calculation from the social services department always only pay the fixed amount of €139.40 (= grant rate) for the entire program, even after changes to their study program.

For non-EEA students, the above rules apply based on the rates mentioned in FAQ 3.

Tuition fees are calculated only based on the number of enrolled ECTS credits. Exempted course units do not count toward tuition fee calculation.
